I have lived in Ottawa all my life. There are lots of great places to visit and things to do in and around the city. Even though I have grown up here, there are still lots of things I haven't done/seen.
While thinking of our summer bucket list (we make a list of things we want to do/places we want to go over summer vacation and cross them off as we do them), I thought that I would compile a list of places to visit in and around the area for people that may be visiting this summer or even for residents that are looking for something to do.
Here is my list - in no particular order (there are activities on here for both summer and winter)
1) Parliament Hill - watch the Changing of the Guard, take a tour of the Parliament Buildings and wander the grounds.

What is your favorite thing to do in Ottawa?
What a great list! So many on there that I love. I like walking around the Byward market when all the farmers are our. And we're hoping to make it to the Kids Museum and the Upper Canada Village.
