Last week, the boys and I picked up my mom and headed to the small city of Brockville. It's just a little more than an hour away from us. 2 years ago, The Aquatarium opened. I have wanted to take the boys for a visit, but the opportunity just didn't seem to happen. When I heard about the Railway Tunnel, I decided we should go and do both things.
The kids enjoyed the aquatarium, they saw some otters and other sea creatures you would find in the St. Lawrence river, played and climbed on a sunken ship replica, had a rowing competition and had fun with water on a miniature replica of the St. Lawrence Seaway.

they enjoyed rowing against each other, and they both had a turn against me as well |
When we finished there, we walked over the the tunnel (likely a 3-4 minute walk for most people) and made our way through. It was a neat experience, Mr. J enjoyed reading about the history of the tunnel at the different kiosks throughout. The lights change colour, and they play music as well. It is wet, so make sure you have proper footwear, and walk carefully to avoid slipping. It is also cool, so you may want a sweater. There is no charge, but they do encourage donations (there is a box at the entrance).
When we were finished in the tunnel, we sat down at a bench and had lunch, and then made our way back towards the car - but stopped for ice cream first!
This is NOT a sponsored post; just a fun outing that we had together. I received no compensation or complimentary passes for the visit.
