Mr. K turned 8 years old earlier in the week. We had a birthday party on the weekend with a few of his friends (nerf fight, pizza and a pinata). On his actual birthday, the 4 of us went to see a movie, and then out to dinner.
He chose the restaurant, and when we arrived it was quite busy. It turns out that a couple of players from the Ottawa Redblacks were going to be there, and doing a radio interview. This was a surprise to us, but we waited a few minutes for a table and when we were sat down, browsed the menu. A little while later, Big Joe, the Redblacks mascot came in. He made his way over to our table, and gave a high five to the kids. I mentioned it was Mr. K's birthday, so he gave him a hug and then wrote a birthday message on MR. K's menu.
Later on, he came back to the table and played Tic Tac Toe with Mr. K. I think meeting Big Joe was the highlight of his birthday. Apparently someone else was taking photos, because one made it onto Big Joes Twitter feed of him at our table!
they grow up so fast! My niece just turned 9!
