Start Something New with DK Canada

It's a new year and time to start fresh.  Why not start something new this year? My husband bought me a bread maker last year, and I was so excited to be able to make fresh bread for our family over the last year. Having the ability to make a baguette or garlic bread to accompany our supper was awesome.

After finding out how easy it is to make home made breads, I have decided that I want to try my hand at some without the maker.  DK Canada sent me a great book to help me get started. I am super excited to try out the recipes in the book. The first one I plan on trying is the Sweet Roll recipe, and next up the chocolate croissant recipe (I am not a huge fan, but hubby loves them)

They have a huge selection of books to choose from: cooking, baking, gardening, jewelry, languages and more! What would you like to start this year?

  3. I got 3 cookbooks for xmas. I love cook books! This bread one seems great too. On a natural parenting level following Waldorf, baking bread and getting kids involved is a great educational tool too. I'd love to make bread with my son.

    1. I have way too many cookbooks, need to weed out the ones I don't use...I hadn't heard that about baking bread before - interesting!

  4. DK Books are always so interesting and helpful! I have a breadmaker but I haven't used it in a while because I lost the recipe I had that worked perfectly for me every time. I have never tried making bread without the maker. Hopefully you'll update us to let us know if it worked out well.

  5. My husband is the break maker in our family because of the bread machine :) but it is a lot of fun to take your aggression out on that rising piece of dough. lol
