Icings, spreads, meringues and ganaches can make any palate drool but The Dollop Book of Frosting by Heather Saffer takes it to a whole new level. The winner of the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars and the author of this great recipe book puts her mark on the frostings industry showcasing some of the most unheard of recipes around.

Frostings You’ve Never Dreamed Of

Upon opening this recipe book, I was instantly astounded at the diverse range being presented. She’s received a lot of praise from Linda Hundt from Sweetie-licious Pies: Eat Pie, Love Life as well as Kate Payne from The Hip Girl’s Guide to Homemaking; and know she’s getting our praise too!

Heather “Cupcakes” Saffer offers some of the most intense icings, spreads, meringues and ganaches. Whether you’re on the hunt for some classic recipes, something with a little twist or going outright crazy there are options for you.

What You’ll Find in The Dollop Book of Frosting
There are so many different recipes that it is impossible not to list them all but we’ve decided to select a few of the most outrageous recipes that we could of never thought of.

Firstly, this one is of course a must try for anyone who loves bacon. Cheddar Bacon Frosting! This recipe was designed for pretzel bites but I don’t think our frosting will get anywhere near those bites it is so delicious. It can be used on such things as potato skins and cornbread, or just on its own it is so yum.

For those wanting to go a little crazier you must check out the Clove Buttercream frosting. In her book she’s paired it with Bittersweet Chocolate, Clove, Beer and Spicy Beer Caramel Cupcakes. These not only sound amazing but a great treat for the adults in your home.

With over 50 great recipes all featuring their very own recipe to go with, this is a recipe book that is a staple for all households. It incorporates so much that it is impossible to not use regularly and have you wanting to try every single recipe there is.

The best part about this book is you don’t need to be a seasoned baker to use the recipes. They are very easy to follow, have lots of detail and take you through all the steps you need to create delicious treats both sweet & savory for your friends & family!

  2. Sounds like an interesting cookbook of frosting. I should give it a read as I'm not very good at making frosting. I buy the already made stuff.
