Tasty Tuesday: Seasonal Cream Cheese Brownies

In my search for Halloween themed treats, I came across this great recipe for Scream Cheese Brownies (another recipe from The Girl Who Ate Everything).

I decided to make them, and while I was doing so realized that they could totally be changed up dependent on the season - red/green for Christmas; red or pink for Valentines Day;  purple, pink, yellow or green for Easter; red/white for Canada Day; red/white/blue for fourth of July....

I am a fan of from scratch recipes, but have yet to come across one that is as good as the Ghiradelli brownie mix from Costco, so that is what I used (1 bag for an 8*8 inch pan)

For the Cream Cheese Mixture, I altered it slightly as well - my version is below

  • 1/2 cup of softened Cream Cheese
  • 2 TBSP softened butter
  • 1/8 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 TBSP flour
  • orange food coloring (optional)

  • halloween themed brownies
