I decided to make them, and while I was doing so realized that they could totally be changed up dependent on the season - red/green for Christmas; red or pink for Valentines Day; purple, pink, yellow or green for Easter; red/white for Canada Day; red/white/blue for fourth of July....
I am a fan of from scratch recipes, but have yet to come across one that is as good as the Ghiradelli brownie mix from Costco, so that is what I used (1 bag for an 8*8 inch pan)
For the Cream Cheese Mixture, I altered it slightly as well - my version is below
