We hosted a bbq on Canada Day, spent lots of time at the pool (this was big for the kids, because they really like it when their dad comes with us - he plays more than I do).
Mr. J turned 11 on the 4th, so we went to see Jurassic World, and then out for dinner - he requested Red Lobster. He has been wanting to go for a while, so we finally made it.
He and hubby shared an appetizer of calamari, and then he ordered a meal that came with 2 lobster tails, 4 shrimp, sausage, potato wedges and corn on the cob. I thought for sure we would be bringing most of it home.
He surprised us. He ate all but 1 potato wedge, and the sausage (he had a couple bites of it). He said he could finish it, but he wanted to have his birthday cake when we got home - so he needed to save a little room.

Unfortunately for Mr. J, Friday didn't go so well. We were supposed to have a few friends over and go swimming for his birthday that evening, but while out with a different friend in the afternoon, he took a tumble from his skateboard. He ended up with some pretty nasty road burn on his side (around his ribs) and there was no way he could go into a pool with that kind of wound. A quick change of plans had his friends coming over for pizza and a movie. They ended up bored of the movie pretty quickly though, and ran around playing hide and seek until their parents came to get them.
I hope your summer is off to a great start! I will be updating weekly.
