My kids and I love to play board games and card games. We have the usual family games that you will see in most homes, but sometimes it's nice to try something new.
I was recently sent a box of games from Asmodee Canada for us to test out and have fun with. Mr. J was away at my brothers, so Mr. K and I opened it up and had some fun. We played Go Cuckoo and Timeline that afternoon.
Timeline was his favourite game. It has a bunch of cards with historical events and inventions, and you have to add them (correctly) to the timeline. I actually didn't think he was going to like it, but he has had a lot of fun with it. What's really nice, is that it is also a history lesson built in. Some of the items he had never heard of, so it was a great opportunity for learning. I think this would be a wonderful addition to a high school history class.
DixIt gets the creative juices flowing! You get to put together a story using the cards that come with the game.
Asmodee has generously offered to sponsor a prize for #BloggersFete, and one lucky winner will be getting a prize pack of games (they may differ from the ones shown here). Make sure to check back on August 1st to find out more. Also have a look at their social media channels Facebook and Twitter.
I never saw this prize (I was looking for it because there are some game titles here that I have been wanting). Was it part of the Twitter party?
ReplyDeleteHi Maryanne, Asmodee sponsored a game pack prize for the twitter party; the games may or may not be the same as above, it depended on what was in stock when they sent out the prize.
