March Break Has Come To An End

The kids have been back in school for a few days, and routines have returned.  Over the last few weeks, I have been dreading the break. Absolutely dreading it. That makes me sad. I was always one of those parents that absolutely LIVED for school breaks. We would have countdowns on the calendar until the next break. I loved having my kids home with me, being able to laze around watching movies, visiting with friends/cousins and going out to museums, play centers or movies.

Over the last 18 months or so, things have been pretty rough with my kids. They don't get along - almost ever. They fight constantly (bickering annoys me, but I can handle that.....but 97% of the time it ends up physical). I have tried separating them, taking things away, ignoring the behaviour etc....and it hasn't changed. It stills happens multiple times a day.

That can take it's toll on a parent. Not to mention the 3 year age difference (but with it being 3 years, Mr. K is pretty "young" for 7, so it seems more like 4-5 years sometimes) that makes it hard to find destinations that appeal to both of them.

I am happy to report that this March break was quite pleasant. We made slime, baked cookies, played lots of board games, and they were also not together for a lot of it. My niece spent some time at our house, Mr. K spent a lot of time with his Gramz, Mr. J went to my brothers for 2 nights, and Mr. K was at Beaver camp this weekend.

It has actually given me some hope for this summer (which I was dreading after summer 2017). So tell me - are you ripping your hair out and ready for school to be back in session, or did you have a great break?
