Rainy Day Fun With Hasbro (Board Games Galore and Toys Too) #BloggersFete

We recently had a shipment arrive from Hasbro, one of the #BloggersFete sponsors.  The boys were so excited when we opened it and they found the Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike, Blazing Team Echostrike FX and Twister.  The Rescue Bots Griffin Rock Firehouse Headquarters was delayed, but has arrived! We also received a box filled with Battleship, Clue, Connect 4 and Jenga.
The shipment arrived just as we were in the midst of a couple of rainy days, so it was perfect to help keep the kids busy and entertained while we were cooped up indoors.  We spent a few days using the toys and playing the board games to keep occupied.

Twister is celebrating it's 50th anniversary this year. I had no idea the game had been around for so long. Mr. J really wanted to play it right away, so we placed it on the floor of the living room, and I quickly realized that my body is just NOT flexible like that anymore.  We did have fun, and he thought it was hilarious when I would lose my balance and fall down.

Mr. K was thrilled with the Blazing Team Echostrike FX. It's like a yoyo, and has different character plates that can go on the outside.  When you throw it, it will light up and make sounds (the sounds vary depending on the plate you have on). This does take 2 AAA batteries that are not included, and requires a screw driver to open the battery compartment. There is a ring attached to the string to put on your finger as well, instead of the traditional loop we are used to.

we used this outside when it wasn't raining

I think the biggest hit of the package was the Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike.  Both the kids love Nerf blasters, and Mr. J made a target on the wall that they were taking turns shooting at. Then he pulled out his own Nerf blaster and they were shooting at the same time.

The Tri-Strike needs to be put together, but only takes a few minutes and doesn't require any tools. Mr. J (9) was able to do it himself.  The Tri-Strike has 3 different dart compartments.  The large missile (1) goes on the top, the 4 red whistler darts go on the front, and there is a clip that holds 10 elite darts (they are the smallest of the set).

We are a family that loves board games, and it is always nice to add some new games to our game shelf.  I had all of these games growing up, and the boys have played them before but were super excited to receive them for us to keep.  It's also interesting for me to see how some of them have been updated (the Clue game we received is a more modern version, the rooms are slightly different) and it also has a back side of the board which takes place near a beach/boardwalk.

Jenga seems to always be a hit. We have the Jenga XL version, but didn't own the original. There is something fun and exciting about building a tower, and then taking it apart piece by piece, waiting for it to topple down.

If you have been a long time follower of Tales of Mommyhood, then you are very aware of how much Mr. K LOVES Transformers Rescue Bots.  He was absolutely THRILLED when he arrived home from camp to find the HQ waiting for him. He was so excited and couldn't wait to get his hands on it!

The Rescue Bots Headquarters would is geared for kids ages 3-7, and is a definite must on your gift list for any Rescue Bots fan in your life!  It comes with a vehicle launcher that propels the vehicles from the fire station.  The set comes with a bumblebee motorcycle (doesn't transform) and Cody with his fire gear.  Other characters are sold separately.
