Growing up I always dreamed of visiting The Bahamas - I thought it would be a wonderful place to relax on the beach with drink in hand. It's not a place I ever thought of taking a family though. My friend at
Tales of A Ranting Ginger has an article with activities great for families.
"Traveling to the Bahamas as a family can be overwhelming if you don’t do a little research beforehand. You will want to make sure that you are staying in a family friendly hotel and that you are planning family friendly activities. If not, it can cause a few ruffled feathers with your group. It’s not going to be a lot of fun for the kids if that tour of the city ends up being for ages 18 and up and you didn’t know about it!
One of the best family friendly hotels on the island of Nassau is
Atlantis. This isn’t to say the other hotels are bad, but this one seems to be the best fit for families. They offer all inclusive packages which includes the hotel, dining and select activities. The dining option includes certain restaurants with a special menu, but the choices are plentiful. The activities that are included are the marine exhibits, the Aquaventure water park, fitness center, movies in the theater, the library, daily fish feeding and the pool."
