Boomerang Kids: Buy Resale For Christmas

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.  Three words that were really popular when I was growing up.  What if you could find a way to incorporate that into your families Christmas?

Boomerang Kids Kanata
This holiday season, Boomerang Kids wants to put an emphasis on buying resale.  It's a great way to save money and help the environment (less stuff going to land fills). Not only are you shopping local when you buy from one of the 7 Boomerang Kids locations, but you are also helping out local families.  Each sale through boomerang kids has a portion going back to the consignor.

Boomerang Kids is a franchise chain of resale stores.  At the moment, there are 5 locations in the Ottawa area and 2 in Quebec.

Boomerang Kids offers families a hassle free way to sell their unwanted or un-needed items.  All you need to do is make a trip to the store with your items to drop them off. Once you have an account created, it doesn't take long. When an item sells, the commission will be added to your account and you can either shop in store or withdraw the cash.

When my kids were younger, I visited the Kanata location as a consignor as well as a shopper on numerous occasions.  It has been quite a while since I visited  (they relocated to a larger location since I was there last). I had a chance to visit with Janet, the owner of the Kanata location earlier this week.

When you are planning your Christmas shopping trips for this season, think about a stop at Boomerang Kids.  If you are on a tight budget, it's an amazing way to purchase high quality items at up to 70% less than the "new" cost. You could even consign toys and clothes your children have grown out of and use the money made to fund your Christmas gifts! Don't need to worry about "old" items as products are only accepted that are in like-new condition.  Often people think buying resale means things have been worn down, but that isn't the case at Boomerang Kids! Approximately 15% of the items Boomerang Kids has in consignment are actually new with tags, and they do have a section of brand new, non consignment items available as well.
The Book Nook - filled with books!
They have plenty of strollers and other large baby equipment (swings, exersaucers, bouncy chairs) if you have a new baby on your list.

Whether you are looking for clothing (the kids probably need a new Christmas outfit or winter gear), toys or baby essentials you are sure to find it at one of their locations (or online - you can shop from the comfort of your home!)  for a fraction of the new price in other retail stores. It will also save you time - all the toys they sell come put together and WITH batteries! No more running around on Christmas Eve trying to set things up and looking in all the drawers and cupboards for batteries you forgot you would need.

Boomerang Kids has 2 discount days: Grandparents Day every Tuesday and Teen Day (size 10-18) every Friday; spend $25.00 (before tax) and save $5.00 or spend $50.00 (before tax) and save $10.00
