His "First" Lunch Box (#giveaway)

As hard as it is for me to accept that my little man, Mr. K is old enough to start school in September, it is true.  He will be turning 4 in a month, and starting junior kindergarten the following week. Now that Ontario has gone to full day kindergarten, it is necessary for him to have a lunch box of his own for daily use.

When I was a kid, lunch boxes were all about My Little Pony, Cabbage Patch Dolls, He Man and Transformers.  There are SO many different kinds to choose from now (and they are so very different styles too!)

Mr. K and I sat down and had a look through the bags on the Staples site - like many little boys, he loves anything to do with police officers, so I wasn't really surprised when he chose the Louis Garneau Police Lunch Box

PRODUCT DETAILS

Dome lunch box with removable liner and shoulder strap
Removable shoulder strap included
Removable plastic liner for easier cleaning
Inside strap for vacuum flask
Mesh pocket on back
Made with high quality 600D polyester with PVC water resistant backing
Bottom made in 1200D strong polyester
24 x 19.5 x 15 cm
6L

It has a removable shoulder strap, or can be carried by the handle on top;  a dome style top (which means it will fit more than the flat style) and a small mesh enclosure on the back.

Since Mr. K is going to be away all day, I wanted to be sure that he would be able to manage using all of his lunch and snack containers himself.  We were headed out for a day of fun, and I packed a picnic lunch for us.

When it was time to eat, he did great.  He was able to open all of his containers on his own (he even stacked them on top of the lids so he would know where they were!)

The lunch box held 2 sandwich containers, 4 snack containers, a ziplock bag of watermelon slices and there was still room on top (when you flip the lid, it has velcro straps to hold something up top - would be perfect for a cold pack)

The liner on the bottom portion is removable (held in by velcro) which makes cleaning it SUPER EASY! The lunch box is insulated, so it will help to keep items cool and fresh (that's something I always worried about - I wanted to make sure that the fruit for their last snack would still be fresh and tasty!)

Mr. K is super excited about his very first lunch box, and my friends at Staples want to give my readers the opportunity to win a lunch bag of their own (up to $25.00 value).

Enter using the form below! Good luck.

Do you remember your first lunch box?

  5. I still have it! My mom saved it & passed it on to my children when they arrived. It is now played with daily as part of our playroom kitchen. :) Surprised to see my mom was able to remove the 300 banana stickers that would accumulate on it each year.
