Every now and then a movie comes along that the whole family enjoys, and inevitably ends up being watched on more than one occasion (sometimes more than once in a WEEK). For us, one of those films was Rio. When we found out there was a sequel being made, we were all super excited.
Life was busy, and we never had a chance to see it in the movie theater. When I found out I would be able to receive an advance copy for review, I was happy - knowing the boys would be thrilled.
It just so happens that it arrived yesterday, and Mr. K and I weren't feeling too well today (we both have a summer cold) so we decided it would be the perfect time to cuddle up on the couch and watch it.

I am always slightly leery of sequels, often times they aren't as good as the original. Unfortunately, I have to say that seems to be the case with Rio 2 (for me anyways) - I just couldn't really get into it. It was great to see the characters back for another story and Mr. K (3.5), however, seemed to really enjoy it. His favourite character was Gabi, a poison dart frog that is in love with Nigel.
I would say that Rio 2 gets a 2 out of 5 from me - but if you have young ones, they would probably enjoy it.
Have been trying to win this on other sites! No luck yet!!
