When hubby and I were first looking at houses, one of the things we were hoping to find in THE house was hardwood flooring. Unfortunately that wasn't so.  Our home has carpet in the living and dining rooms, and tile in the kitchen, bathroom and hallway.  Our upstairs family room and all bedrooms also have carpet.  While we would love to change our floors now, we are going to wait until the kids are a little older, and then we hope to replace with hardwood.  Read a little about hardwood flooring below.

    I think you can't beat a hardwood floor. We are lucky to have hardwood throughout our home - add such a nice warm touch.

    We replaced the carpet and tile on our first floor with hardwood and we love it. Yes, the kids and the dog put in some dents and scratches but it's still beautiful and it kind of adds to the appeal anyway. We want to do the second floor now too!

    Oh, I definitely couldn't live without hardwood on our main floor! We were lucky enough to have hardwood in our first home and I found it so easy to clean (and never stress about spills from the kids) that I don't think I could ever return to carpet!

    I love hardwood. But, a friend of mine had her dog scratch hers all to hell. Do you think it was the type of hardwood?

      it may have been a softer wood - but I guess if the dogs nails are long and constantly running/walking on the floor it would get scratched

    A few years ago we replaced the flooring on our entire main floor, including the kitchen with hardwood...I LOVE it!
