Home Made Bagels - Easy and Delicious

Montreal style bagels home made
Easy and delicious Montreal style bagels - made at home!

I have been wanting to make my own bagels for quite some time, but never found a recipe that seemed easy to make.  I recently found out a friend of mine has a blog and while I was looking through it found a recipe for Montreal style bagels.

Here are my notes:

* we don't use honey, so I did not have any in the house. Even with this omitted, they turned out great
* as this was a spur of the moment decision, I had no poppy seeds or sesame seeds so mine are plain (still good!)
* cook time - it will really depend on your oven. I always have to adjust the cook time, as mine gets pretty hot fast.  Next time I will leave them for 12 minutes before flipping, and then only 3 to finish off.
* this made 12 large bagels, and 2 small (I based the size so I could use 2 cookie sheets only)
