first flower on my tomato plants |
I am also now trying to limit the "packaging" that comes into the house - I have started making my own baguettes and bagels, we are growing our own herbs, strawberries and tomatoes (with hopes to add cucumbers and peppers in next year).
To help eliminate paper waste, I thought that I would try out epost - a service offered by Canada Post. What a great way to eliminate unwanted paper (less envelopes, less bills printed and the inserts that often come with them too!)

the computer, waiting for me |
I gathered my bills and opened up the epost website. Setting up an account was really quick and took me less than a minute to complete

browsing for mailers |
I was only able to add a few of my bills - Rogers, property tax and water and sewer. Unfortunately, most of the bills we have are not offered on epost yet - so I would hope that they would get those added in soon (Bell Canada, Enbridge etc). Once I chose my "mailers" for Rogers and my bank of choice, I set them up and got everything authorized. Something I wasn't aware of - certain companies are on there and you can add your pay statement to epost - I thought that was pretty neat!
Be sure to check out my Google + album for more pictures - and leave me a comment telling me if you have used epost before, and if you strive to be green!
It's so much easier staying organized with ePost I find, and I must admit, I love that I don't have to get out of bed to do my bills online (thanks to my laptop...hehe). There's so many times I misplace bills and this definitely helps keep everything in one place :)
ReplyDeleteyes, laptops are very convenient! thanks for visiting
DeleteMy husband has his pay stubs delivered via epost, I still need to get set up with our bills.
ReplyDeleteI think it is neat that you can get the pay stubs delivered!
DeleteI'm very curious as to how this compares to just having all my bills emailed to me and paying them through online banking. It might be somewhat convenient to have them all in one place. Will have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteI guess it is similar, except that everything is conveniently in one place (although, not all bills are available as of yet)
DeleteI'm pretty old school when it comes to bills. I prefer opening them while sitting down to a cup of coffee, combing through them to make sure there are no errors then paying them online. I'm always worried about getting lazy and not taking the time to verify the bill properly if it's sent to me digitally. Either way, this is a fantastic service and definitely the way of the future.
ReplyDeletethanks so much for your comments! I know my mom and my in laws don't trust online banking AT ALL
DeleteI am all for things that make life easier. I'm in such a struggle with this right now. Friends work for canada post and I worry that this will lead to job loss for carriers. On the other hand my life could use some order in this area and this service would absolutely do it! Gah! So much to think about!
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those people that need paper in their lives! I would always be late if I didn't place that bill right on my keyboard when I got it!
