First Strawberry |
I normally take Mr. J (will start bringing Mr. K now too) once a year to pick strawberries at a local strawberry farm. This year - we are growing our own at home too - very excited about it. We had our first ripened berry on Saturday (Mr. K was a thief and picked it off the plant and popped it in his mouth when I wasn't looking)
Given that this is one of my favorite times of year, I thought I would do a round up of Strawberry posts that have yummy easy fresh strawberry recipes and droolworthy photo's!

Love the pic!! Thinking of growing some at home as well. I doubt they could ripen fast though enough given how much the kids love them. Great post roundup :)
ReplyDeletethanks Fariha! They definitely don't happen quickly, and the plants are flowering at different times (and even each plant the buds are coming out really randomly)
Deletethanks for featuring our recipes. Off to check the others. I love strawberry
ReplyDeleteno problem! Looking forward to trying them out
DeleteHow neat! I love that you guys are growing your own, must be a great experience with your little guy! Thanks for sharing the recipes. I've already found a couple I'm adding to my To Make list! :)
ReplyDeletethis is the first year, we will see how it goes! They boys certainly like to check them out and see how they are coming along!
DeleteI can not wait to go strawberry picking. Love them, so sweet
ReplyDeleteMe too! The boys have so much fun finding the "reddest" and "biggest" berries
DeleteWe use to have strawberries in our backyard but eventually the trees took over and the spot became to shady. However, this year I did buy potter strawberry plant and my little one is loving it. We go out every day and see if there is a ripe strawberry to pick and when there is she devours them!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing how excited the kids are about it! It's a great way to get them interested in learning about how food gets to the table
