Mr. K and the Lilac

A few years ago, we let Mr. J pick out 2 lilac bushes to plant at the back of our yard.  We don't have a fence, and thought this would add some privacy.  We realized that we would need another one, and since Mr. J had picked out the first ones, we let Mr. K pick out the new one.

Last Monday (Victoria Day) hubby and Mr. K planted the tree; Mr. K was so proud of "his" tree. That is, until yesterday.  They were in the back doing putting down some soil and grass seed, and the tree was gone. Dug up, and completely gone.

Someone STOLE our lilac tree. Who does that? Mr. K is VERY upset over the fact that HIS tree is gone (he is quite dramatic at the best of times, but I don't blame him for being sad and upset over this)

Apparently, there was a write up in the paper last week or the week before about people going around stealing freshly planted flowers and shrubs.

Have you ever had something stolen from you?

  3. What? Someone stole a lilac tree? Honestly what is wrong with people. One year someone stole our Christmas lights off the front of our house. Stupid.

  5. People steal plants?! I'm so sorry that happened to you guys! Lilacs are one of my favourite flours and my girls are my favourite gardeners. Someone stealing their plants would make me want to throw some serious composting manure down!

  8. I don't understand how anyone can do that. How heartbreaking - especially for a little one. So sorry.
