kids grow up

Julien is old enough to play outside on the back deck by himself. Last year, I let him , but I stayed in the kitchen to keep an eye on him. This year, I am comfortable with leaving the main level and doing laundry, playing with Kyle etc. I love the fact that he is old enough and independant enough to be there without me, but it also makes me sad that he is growing up. Starting kindergarten in the fall, and the fact that he is potty trained makes it even more so.

It's rare that he will let me hold and cuddle him now. I try and remember to get my fill with Kyle before he grows up and doesn't want them either

  1. I am starting to feel this way with my son Kyle too. He is newly 4 and oh so independent!

  2. It can be so hard. I have a 5 year old girl in kindergarten and every time she comes home she knows something new that I swear I didn't know in kindergarten! She's also able to handle so many things I would have thought she was too little for. They grow up so incredibly fast.
