yummy beavertails

As I have posted in past years, we are lucky to be home to the largest skating rink in the world - the rideau canal.

Every year, the first 3 weekends in February the city puts on a winter festival, called winterlude. There are lots of outdoor activities to partake in (skating, snow slides, ice sculptures) and one of the best things about winterlude, is enjoying a beavertail.

Beavertails are available year round (there is a stand in the market, and a shop at st. laurent centre); but, really - there is no better way to enjoy a beavertail than out in the cold on the rideau canal. It is one of the treats that I (and Jules) look forward to every winter.
