2017 Summer Bucket List

Each summer, the kids and I make a bucket list of things that we want to do. Some of them are simple, and others require more thought/planning.  Things to do at home, places to go around town and even day trips.  This summer will be a little different, since Mr. J is going to be away at camp for one week, it's going to be strange having only one child in the house; I know we are still going to have a blast.

I look forward to summer break with the kids every year. I love the fact that I am home. Being able to do last minute day trips, and fun things with them throughout the summer is really important to me. Don't get me wrong, I don't plan every minute of their vacation, there is lots of time for them to be at home doing things in the yard, taking off to friends houses etc.  The list just gives us ideas of things we can do and places we can go.

I will be posting updates weekly with what we have done, and adding in anything else that we decided to do as well.

Do you have any plans for summer?

  1. FUN!! I used to adore picking strawberries. I even worked doing that one summer for a bit. That's funny how I forgot that entirely until just now. Hard work man! Anyways sounds like you will have so much to look forward to! My older girl is so excited about working - she will work all summer as a camp counsellor at martial arts camp. Happy for her.

    1. I love strawberry picking, but I couldn't do it as a job. It's not easy being on the ground picking those plants. I am sure your daughter will have a great time as counsellor!

  2. This is a wonderful summer bucket list! There are a few things on here we have in common like water fights and sleep overs. My son is most excited because for the first time ever we have bought seasons' passes to Canada's Wonderland! It was a bit of an expense, but we can go so many times and the water park is wonderful for those super hot days.

    1. Park Omega is on Quebec; you drive through the area (approximately 1 hour)- there are wild animals that will come up to the car for carrots (deer, bison etc). They have wolves and bears (behind fences, but with a huge, natural habitat to roam).
