The BEST Apple Crisp

I am a huge fan of apple crisp.  I have been making it for many years, and tried many different recipes.  I finally fused a few together to come up with my favourite, and it's always devoured by my hubby and any guests we have over.

Having gone apple picking on the weekend, I was so excited to whip up a fresh Apple Crisp, and I set to work as soon as we got home.

The BEST Apple Crisp

6-8 medium Macintosh Apples (or whatever apple you like best) - washed, peeled and sliced thin
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp nutmeg

Place apple slices into baking dish and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg

1 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup softened butter

Add dry ingredients to a bowl and mix well; cut in butter until you have a crumbly topping. Sprinkle topping evenly over the fruit.

Bake in a preheated (350 degrees) oven for 25-30 minutes.

Remove, let cool for 5 minutes and serve
