I am so tired of the question

"are you going to have another to try for a girl?" Really - why do I need to try for a girl. If we have another baby, can it not be just for the sake of expanding our family?

Why do people automatically assume that when you have 2(or more) of the same sex, that you want to have another to go for the opposite gender? Why must everyone want the million dollar family?

Even when I was pregnant, before finding out the sex of my children, I was never hoping for one over the other.

I really wish that people would just accept the fact that I want children - not specific sexes.
OK - rant over.

  1. Before having children, my ideal was one of each. When I was pregnant with my second, I really didn't care if we were having a boy or a girl (I could think of advantages to each and the sex of the child really doesn't dictate the child's interests or personality).

When we went to the 19 week ultrasound I was nervous that I would be disappointed when we found out the sex, even though I didn't think I had a preference but I was very happy to find out it was a boy, even though we wouldn't be able to reuse many of Tessa's cute clothes :D.
