Fun at the cottage

Bev and Alan hosted a bbq at their cottage yesterday - it was a lot of fun. Really nice to see all the kids together (Mine, Wes', and Tylers) They had lots of fun playing on the beach, and except for Julien, everyone seemed to enjoy playing in the water!

26 weeks

I can't believe I can say that I am 26 weeks. In just a few short days I will be entering into the 3rd trimester of this pregnancy - it has gone by very fast.

I am so excited to meet this little bean - Julien gets more excited every day; he likes to spend time watching my belly move, touching the baby and giving baby kisses - it's pretty adorable.

We have been making sure over the last few days to let him know how much we love him, and that our love for him won't change after the baby gets here etc.

sorry guys

Unfortunately, Wes and Tash did not win the wedding contest. I was really hoping for them, but it didn't pay  off - sorry.

25 weeks and 4 days

Here is my belly picture from Sunday, 25 weeks.

Also on Sunday, we headed out to Dows Lake for the fair that they hold there every year. We took Jules last year, and he had a lot of fun, so we thought that we would go again this year.

Unfortunately, he wasn't able to go on any rides because the ones he could do, he had to be by himself - and he would have freaked out. But, he did have fun playing the games and eating his slush puppy!

fingers crossed for Wes and Tash

Tash entered a contest = wedding in 24 hours. She got a phone call yesterday morning to tell her that she and wes had been chosen as finalists (I think there are 50 couples) and they need to be at a breakfast on Friday, where the name will be drawn of the winning couple.

So, the winning couple then belongs to the radio station/wedding ppl for the next 24 hours while they get all the preperations made for the wedding to take place on Saturday evening! How cool is that!

I have my fingers crossed for you guys - good luck!

honk - honk - honk - honk

I have been staying with my mom for a few days while J gets some work done on the nursery.  So, last night I was having a nice soak in the tub, and all of a sudden I heard Julien start to kill himself laughing. Then, I heard a car alarm going off. I quickly put 2 and 2 together, and realized he had my car keys.

So, being as huge as I am right now, I don't move so quickly. I got out of the tub and dried off - head downstairs and the alarm has gone off now. I guess as soon as Jules heard me get out of the tub, he threw my keys and took off running down the hall.  I get my keys off the table, and open the front door to make sure that my car is locked - and I find it running. So, he unlocked it, started it - and set off the alarm.

fun times in pregnancy

This is probably going to be too much information for some, so if you are squeamish or don't want to hear about girly issues - STOP reading now.

Yesterday I had some bright red bleeding when I went to the washroom. Morgan had Julien at the park, so when they got back I asked her to stay with Jules for a few hours. So, off to triage J and I went.

WE got there, and I got registered. They couldn't find my chart from my last pregnancy (to be fair, they are under construction and everything is scattered all over the place)  I get taken into triage (but, they were full so we were taken back to the birthing suites - at least it was private!)

The nurse checks my BP and hooks me up to the fetal monitor (baby was moving around quite a bit heartrate was steady!)

They did bloodwork and when it came back the resident came in to see me. She was pretty nice, and said that most cases of bleeding cannot be explained - but that they would have a look anyways. So, the nurse comes in with a huge flashlight, they tell me to get into the position, and in goes the speculum. It was uncomfortable, then, the resident has her head between my legs and the nurse is shining the flashlight up my who-ha - oh the fun - you really have NO dignity when your pregnant.

So, my cervix is closed (great news) and she sees a bump on the top of it. She had told me that sometimes a vein, or a clump of cells will burst - so that seems to be the case.  She wanted the OB on call to come and check just to be sure, and so the whole flashlight scenario begins again - except this time the resident is holding it and I have TWO heads looking inside.

They were glad to find the reason for the bleeding, since it is harmless - light duties and no heavy lifting for a few days (and apparently doing the laundry is bad for me, and J was told to take that over - ha!  )  Then the nurse starts asking me questions about prenatals etc. I haven't been taking them because they make me ill, and on top of morning sickness it's not fun - she looks like she is about to give me a lecture, when the OB tells me that she didn't take them either. The nurse tries telling me to take it at night, and the OB agrees with me that when you suffer from morning sickness, sometimes taking a tiny pill like diclectin is difficult, and so getting the HUGE prenatals is practically impossible. They were happy to hear that I generally take my folic acid though.

The nurse went over the policies of the mother/baby unit so that when I do give birth I know that only 2 ppl are allowed to be with me (and no changing, it MUST be the same 2). And that everyone else must wait at home until called. Grandparents are allowed to visit for 10 minutes outside of visiting hours if the baby is born, otherwise only between 4 and 8pm.

So, that was my fun filled evening - but, it wasn't so bad - in and out in 3 hours. Its nice not having to go through the emergency department!

happy mothers day to me

I got the best mothers day present EVER today!

Julien told me he loved me! We were at the pub for lunch, and talking about the concert at school yesterday (which he stood stock still for - no dancing or singing from my son) and then he started making these motions, and out comes "I love you". Then, I realized that the motions were the actions to "skinna marinky dinky dink" - which was one of the songs they performed yesterday! It melted my heart!

favorite smells

one of my all time favorite smells is fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. I love the memories that it brings (childhood) and the way everyone seems to perk up!

This morning, Julien and I decided to bake some. The first sheet is out of the oven, and the 2nd is baking as I type - the house smells heavenly!
