8.5 weeks

I am 8.5 weeks pregnant already. I scored some really good deals at a consignment shop the other night, and got 3 shirts for under $20.! I was pretty happy about that!

I am definitely starting to show. It's really getting difficult to hide, and we are trying to keep quiet until 12 weeks. I am not sure if that will be able to happen or not.  The diclectin does not seem to be the miracle drug I had hoped. While I am not throwing up everyday, I am at the max dose and most days still vomiting 2-3 times. Not much fun. Thank goodness for my mom and mother-in-law. They have been terriffic helping out with Julien when I need some time to myself!

Our friends Shawn and Jenn just recently found out that they are having a BOY! I couldn't be happier for them. I'm sure girls are just as much fun, but I have a special fondness to my little guy and how much more entertaining life is with him around!!!

busy times around here

I am horrible at updating the blog lately. I apologize.

J is not working nights any longer, which is really nice for us as a family. Julien loves to spend time with his daddy!  I have taken to going out for an hour after dinner, to give the 2 of them time alone together, and my sundays at the pub are about to start back also! I can't wait!

nursery school update

Julien had to miss Friday's class, as he had a pretty bad cold. It sucked not sending him, because it just delays everything.

Today was not as bad as I expected. He did cry, but he didn't cling to me or scream. Miss Lonnie brought him into the class to go find the other instructor, and he was crying a little when  I left, as I said, not as bad as I had thought.

Here is the picture I took of him last week before his first class

please be a mircale drug

I had my first prenatal appt last week. It was't too exciting, however she did give me a prescription for diclectin. It is a wonder drug. I was hoping not to have to take the full minimum dose, but after 4 days I did have to start taking 5 pills (I started with 1 and worked my way up - I actually had 4 days with no vomiting, that ended yesterday though - which is why I upped the dose).

I am finding it very difficult to hide, as my belly is almost as big as it was at 12 weeks with Jules, and I am only 7weeks. If I don't suck in (which in itself is getting difficult) you can definitely see the preggo belly shape.

nursery school

Julien started nursery school yesterday (or as he calls it, ool)
He will be attending on monday and friday mornings, for 2.5 hours.

Drop off went much better than expected - he did ask to come home with me, but I managed to get him into the play area.

When I came to pick him up, he cried when he saw me. The teachers told me that he did cry when I left, but that he was completely fine by snack time (about an hour in).

I am preparing myself for things to be much worse on Friday, since he now knows what to expect.
Please, wish me luck!

happy new year!

Happy New Year to all!

We had a (somewhat) quiet new years eve. The 3 of us watched the sens game and the canada game. Julien was passed out at 830 on the couch, and I barely managed to make it to the ball drop. It was nice.

NYE just doesn't seem important like it did years ago.

morning sickness strikes again

I was hoping that I might be able to sneak through this pregnancy without morning sickness, unfortunately, I was wrong.

It has crept up on me again. In some ways it is not as bad as with Julien, but since I have a toddler to look after, it's almost worse. I don't have the option of staying in my pj's and watching tv all day.

I actually have to cook and clean, and make sure Julien is happy......I am lucky that I don't have the horrible fatigue like I did with Julien. I am actually able to stay awake past 9 pm. I would love a nap in the afternoons, but that doesn't happen with Jules around.

I have my first prenatal appt this week - I am looking forward to it. My doctor had told me I would be followed more closely in any other pregnancies because of the complications during Julien's pregnancy - so I  will find out what that entails on Wednesday!

Christmas with the picco's!

Well, this was another wonderful Christmas! We shared our news with my mom on Christmas Eve, and then with J's parents on Christmas night.
We have decided to hold off on telling friends/extended family for a little while - most likely at the end of January.

Julien was a blast at Christmas. He loved everything that "ho ho" brought him, and made our Christmas that much more special.
