Winterlude fun

Living in Ottawa, we are fortunate enough to be home to the Worlds largest skating rink, the Rideau Canal. We also play host to the annual winter carnival, Winterlude. As a child, some of my fondest memories are days my parents would take us out of school and head over to Jacques Cartier park, or down to the canal - it was wonderful time to spend as a familyand always included beavertails and hot chocolate.

I decided that since Monday was such a beautiful day, that I would head down to the canal with Julien. We walked around (no skates this year) and I pulled him on his sleigh.
We then stopped to enjoy a beavertail (my son loves anything with sugar - he would have eaten the whole thing if I let him); Julien was quite upset when I wouldn't let him go back to get a 2nd one.

Catching a bit as it falls out of his mouth - no way he's letting any of the yummy cinnamon/sugar/lemon pastry get away from him!

And here he is on the car ride home, all tired out from his morning adventure.
